Heckman Orchards is located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains and has been continuously operated since its establishment in 1962. On the farm, there are a wide variety of award-winning fruits and vegetables, as well as Christmas trees and flowers.
Springtime Flowers at the Farmers Market
During May and early June, they sell flowering plants and vegetable plants. The farm stand for Heckman Orchards is easily visible as you are driving by.
Fresh produce and baked goods available
In June, July, and August, many of their own fruits and vegetables come into season, including strawberries, corn, tomatoes, and peaches.
Strawberry picking in June
My absolute favorite time of year at Heckman Orchards is Strawberry picking season. It only lasts for a few short weeks, so you need to be proactive about checking their facebook page for dates! Bring your own containers, or purchase a bucket when you arrive. If getting down on the ground to pick isn’t your thing – no worries! You can by pre-picked berries at the farm stand.
This is a great activity for little ones! From Mom to Mom – here’s a tip: smaller children will immediate start eating the berries! Make sure you have wet wipes handy.
Sour Cherry Picking in July
Sour cherry picking in July is a must! There’s nothing better than a cherry in summer.
Peaches in August
Life is peachy at Heckman Orchards in August!
Pumpkin picking in October
During the fall, they sell pumpkins, gourds, and apples, as well as other seasonal produce. I spy a fall photo-op!
Christmas Trees and Wreaths in December
